Before anything else

The coach in Alongside is designed to understand you. Not a version of you from last month, or who you're trying to become. You, today. Your history, your energy, your mood, your struggles.

Because we come to each day differently. And a coach worth having knows that.

So before anything else — we'd like to ask you something.

“How do you feel?”

How it moves through a day

Because how you feel doesn't stay in one place.

It moves through your day — and it costs. Everything costs energy. Some things cost a little. Some cost more. Some days, a conversation that would normally be nothing takes everything you've got. The same task, the same person, the same room — different day, different cost. That's not inconsistency. That's how human nervous systems actually work.

And when we keep spending without restoring — when we push through the empty feeling and keep going anyway — something starts to shift. Not just tiredness. Something deeper. The way we respond to people. The way we show up. The things we start to lose.

Burnout isn't a dramatic collapse. It arrives quietly, as a kind of depletion that ordinary rest doesn't fix. As the feeling that you've been running too hard for too long, in the wrong gear, and something in you is starting to show the strain.

How you feel is where it starts.
And how you feel is where it turns around.

Imagine

Imagine if you had a coach who didn't need you to explain yourself.

Who noticed. Who adapted. Who met the day you were actually having — not the one you'd planned.

That's what Alongside is.

Three beliefs

There are three things I believe that shaped every decision in this product.

The first is that behaviour is communication. When someone disappears from an app for two weeks, they haven't failed. They've been communicating something — exhaustion, pain, a season of life that demanded everything else. The right response is curiosity, not punishment.

I've always been curious about people. Genuinely, embarrassingly curious. I'll sit in a cafe with my family and completely lose the thread of the conversation because I'm watching the table across the room — the way two people hold hands while they read the menu, the way someone listens to their friend, really listens, without waiting for their turn to speak. I find myself wondering what their morning was like. What they're like when nobody's watching.

And then I think: if I knew that — if I actually knew something about their day, their history, what they were carrying — how would I treat them differently? I think I'd be more patient. More generous. I'd ask better questions. I'd make more room inside myself.

That's what Alongside tries to do. Not just respond to what you do — but wonder about why. And let that wondering change how it shows up for you.

The second is that everyone deserves world-class support. Not a cut-down version. Not a basic tier that manages them until they're ready for something better. Everyone who comes to Alongside — whatever their body, their history, their diagnosis, their energy on any given day — deserves the same quality of attention. That's not idealism. That's the minimum.

The third is that we are not separate. Not from each other. Not from the natural world. Not from the consequences of how we treat both. Movement isn't just about the body. It's about how we reconnect — with ourselves, with other people, with something larger than our daily routine. The causes Alongside supports exist because of this belief. They're not charity. They're the belief made visible.

What changes

Something happens when you feel understood.

Not fixed. Not solved. Understood.

The coach noticed you were struggling before it suggested anything. It adjusted. It met the day you were actually having. And over time — quietly, imperfectly — something shifts. You start to trust your body a little more. You stop calling missed sessions failure. You come back more easily. You stay.

And then you start to carry something.

Not the fitness. Something underneath it. A slightly different way of meeting difficulty. The colleague who snaps, the stranger who seems closed off, the moment that would usually cost you the rest of your day — you find you have more room inside yourself. Not because the world got easier. Because you did.

You can't stop people from being who they are. But you can choose who you are in response. And that choice — made in thirty seconds, made quietly, made without anyone noticing — that's what Alongside is building toward.

We can't promise this happens for everyone. We won't claim that.

But we're building toward a world where more people feel equipped to be the steady one. The curious one. The one who wonders before they react.

The ambassador of change.

One session at a time.

The five percent

A minimum of five percent of everything Alongside earns goes to causes our community believes in.

Not as charity. Not as a footnote. As a founding commitment — built into the business from day one, before there was any revenue to give.

Every quarter, three causes. Each one chosen because it reflects something Alongside stands for — dignity, support, our connection to the world around us. You vote with your credits. You decide where it goes.

As the community grows, so does the commitment. A minimum of five percent is the floor. Not the ceiling.

In closing

Imagine a relationship with a coach that understood you, that supported you through difficult moments, and helped you Move.
